Gulfstream Aerospace is taking aircraft interiors to the next level with a $30 million expansion at its St. Louis facility, now fully equipped to handle complete interior outfitting for its next-gen business jets.
Announced in 2023 and now completed, the upgrade transforms the site into a key hub for interior completions, boosting both efficiency and local production capabilities. The expansion adds to Gulfstream’s already robust maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations that have been in St. Louis since 2017.
Now covering more than 645,000 square feet, the facility is designed to streamline the process of customizing luxury cabins for Gulfstream’s growing global customer base. That means everything from bespoke cabinetry to advanced avionics integration can now be handled in-house—faster and with greater attention to detail.
“This St. Louis facility expansion is a continuation of our company-wide growth strategy to support the production of Gulfstream’s industry-leading fleet,” said Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream. “It positions our team to further support completions of our next-generation aircraft for customers all over the world as demand continues to grow.”
Alongside the physical upgrade, Gulfstream has added 200 new jobs focused on specialized interior work—including avionics, interior installation, and custom cabinet fabrication and finishing. And they’re still hiring.
To build a future-ready workforce, Gulfstream is also partnering with local education initiatives like the Cahokia Heights school district and The Center for Academic and Vocational Excellence (CAVE) in Belleville. Through these programs, high school students can gain hands-on experience in aircraft interiors, with opportunities to move into full-time roles post-graduation.
This St. Louis investment is part of Gulfstream’s broader interior-focused expansion strategy, which includes new service centers in Mesa, Arizona, and Fort Worth, Texas, plus a high-tech paint hangar in Appleton, Wisconsin, and a growing service center in Savannah, Georgia.
