Emirates is further strengthening its premium passenger offering in India with the deployment of its flagship Airbus A380 on the Dubai–Delhi route and the expansion of its signature Premium Economy cabin across six Indian gateways from October 25, 2026. The move underscores the airline’s continued investment in premium cabin products, bringing more travellers access to its latest onboard interiors and elevated service experience.

The latest expansion sees Delhi become Emirates’ third Indian destination to welcome the iconic A380, joining Mumbai and Bengaluru, while Kolkata will receive the airline’s next-generation Airbus A350 equipped with its newest cabin products. Together, the fleet enhancements significantly increase the availability of Premium Economy for passengers travelling between India and Dubai.

A380 luxury in Delhi

From October 25, Emirates will operate its Airbus A380 on flights EK512 and EK513 between Dubai and Delhi in a four-class configuration featuring First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy.

The introduction of the superjumbo complements the airline’s retrofitted Boeing 777 fleet already serving the route, ensuring that all four daily Delhi services offer the full four-class cabin experience.

For premium travellers, the A380 continues to represent one of the industry’s most recognised luxury travel products. Its spacious twin-deck design, quieter cabin environment and carefully curated onboard experience have made the aircraft a preferred choice among long-haul passengers seeking greater comfort.

Premium economy

A key element of Emirates’ latest expansion is the continued rollout of its award-winning Premium Economy cabin, which is now becoming a defining feature of the airline’s India operations.

Passengers travelling from Delhi will be able to access Premium Economy across all four daily services, while Kolkata passengers will enjoy the product on every Emirates flight serving the city.

The cabin has been designed to deliver a distinctly elevated experience between Economy and Business Class. Wide cream leather seats with generous pitch and recline, adjustable headrests, thoughtfully designed storage, premium dining served on chinaware, and enhanced onboard amenities combine to create a more refined journey without the price point of Business Class.

As demand grows globally for premium leisure travel, Emirates continues to position Premium Economy as an important part of its long-haul product strategy.

Next-gen cabins

Alongside the A380 deployment in Delhi, Emirates will introduce its Airbus A350 on the daily Dubai–Kolkata service from October 25. The A350 will replace the Boeing 777 currently operating the route and will feature Emirates’ latest cabin interiors, including Premium Economy.

Passengers travelling on the airline’s additional five-times-weekly retrofitted Boeing 777 services will also enjoy the same four-class experience, ensuring Premium Economy is available across all 12 weekly flights between Kolkata and Dubai.

The fleet upgrade reflects Emirates’ continued investment in offering consistent premium cabin standards across its expanding network.

Premium experience

Emirates’ luxury proposition extends beyond cabin design. Passengers travelling on Indian routes can enjoy regionally inspired menus created by award-winning chefs, offering a sophisticated interpretation of Indian cuisine alongside international favourites. Cabin crews fluent in Hindi and several regional Indian languages provide a personalised onboard experience, while the airline’s inflight entertainment system offers more than 6,500 channels, including an extensive selection of Indian-language films and television content.

On the ground, Emirates is also enhancing its premium customer journey with new Emirates Travel Stores in Delhi and Mumbai, where travellers can receive personalised travel consultations and explore the airline’s latest products. Similar facilities are planned for Hyderabad and Bengaluru, supported by a dedicated customer service centre in Mumbai.

Commenting on the expansion, Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, said the airline’s latest product rollout reflects its long-term commitment to one of its most important international markets.

“Emirates’ long-standing commitment to India is reflected in the continued rollout of our latest products, designed to enhance the travel experience. We are pleased to introduce our highly anticipated A380 services to Delhi, a vital gateway in our network, from October.”

Kazim added that Delhi’s inclusion as the third Indian A380 destination reflects strong passenger demand while reinforcing Emirates’ premium positioning in the market.

“We are also making our Premium Economy product more widely available across India to reach six gateways and close to half of our scheduled weekly flights. A host of other service enhancements are in the pipeline as a testament to our partnership with India and commitment to our customers.”

Redefining premium journey

With the expansion of its A380 network in India and the rapid rollout of Premium Economy across six gateways, Emirates is reinforcing its position at the premium end of the long-haul travel market.

Rather than simply increasing capacity, the airline is investing in cabin innovation, passenger comfort and personalised service, giving travellers more opportunities to experience its flagship products across a wider network. As Premium Economy continues to gain momentum globally, Emirates’ latest deployment demonstrates how airlines are increasingly using cabin differentiation and interior excellence to meet evolving passenger expectations and elevate the overall travel experience.
