RECARO Holding has renamed AAT Composites to RECARO Composites as part of its expansion of composite manufacturing capabilities for seating applications.
Based in Cape Town, South Africa, RECARO Composites has around 40 years of experience in the design, development and manufacture of composite components.
The business will support RECARO’s seating activities with lightweight composite components for aviation and other transportation applications. Composite materials can reduce component weight while maintaining the structural properties required for seating applications.
The company also plans to apply its composite manufacturing expertise to emerging aircraft such as electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles, where reducing weight is an important design consideration.
RECARO Composites will operate within RECARO Holding alongside RECARO Aircraft Seating, RECARO Gaming, and RECARO Rail.
The rebranding changes the name of AAT Composites to RECARO Composites while retaining its existing base and composite engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
