American Airlines is updating its complimentary Main Cabin inflight snack selection, introducing a wider mix of sweet and savoury options based on customer feedback and changing snacking preferences.

The refreshed lineup will begin rolling out on select flights in early October, giving passengers more choice throughout the day.

Morning flights will continue to offer Biscoff cookies, a popular choice among American customers, particularly when served with Lavazza coffee. The airline will also introduce Goldfish as an additional option for passengers seeking a savoury snack during morning flights.

Later in the day, customers will continue to have access to Goldfish, alongside two new offerings: Tate’s Bake Shop chocolate chip cookies and Peterson’s savoury and sweet snack mix.

American said the updated selection was developed after gathering customer feedback and testing different options to better understand preferences across different times of the day.

“Small details can make a meaningful difference in the travel experience, especially the familiar touches customers look forward to throughout their journey,” said Heather Garboden, Chief Customer Officer at American Airlines.

“As we looked at our snack offerings, we wanted to take the time to get this refresh right by listening to customer feedback and understanding what customers value most. This updated lineup brings together beloved favourites and new choices in a way that feels familiar, elevated and enjoyable,” she added.

The snack refresh is part of American’s broader focus on enhancing the inflight customer experience, with the airline also recently introducing premium dining updates, including centennial-inspired inflight menus and new California wines.

American said its complimentary snack selection will continue to evolve, with offerings rotating over time in response to customer feedback and preferences. The airline indicated that passengers can expect additional choices to be introduced in 2027.

The updated snacks will be available across American’s network as the rollout expands, adding further variety to the Main Cabin beverage service.
