Bombardier has delivered the first Global 8000 aircraft in Africa to Nigeria-based BUA Group, marking the entry of the manufacturer’s latest flagship business jet into service on the continent.
The aircraft will support the multinational conglomerate’s long-range travel requirements, enabling non-stop connections from Lagos to destinations including Los Angeles, Perth and Tokyo.
For the aircraft interiors sector, the delivery highlights growing demand for cabin environments designed to improve passenger comfort and wellbeing on ultra-long-range missions. The Global 8000 features four distinct living spaces, a dedicated crew rest area and a cabin altitude of 2,691 feet, intended to reduce passenger fatigue during extended flights.
Abdul Samad Rabiu, Founder and Chairman of BUA Group, said the aircraft’s cabin environment and operational capabilities were key considerations for the company.
“The Global 8000 offers the range, speed, comfort, and reliability required to support our international business activities,” said Rabiu. “For a group with international operations and commitments, the ability to reach more destinations non-stop while maintaining comfort and productivity on board is an important advantage.”

The aircraft’s cabin layout is designed to support multiple activities during flight, including work, dining, relaxation and rest, reflecting broader trends in business aviation toward residential-style interiors that enhance productivity and passenger experience.
Éric Martel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bombardier, described the delivery as an important milestone for both companies.
“The delivery of Africa’s first Global 8000 to BUA Group is a significant milestone for both organizations and a proud moment in the strong relationship we have built over the years,” said Martel. “We are honoured by BUA Group’s continued trust in Bombardier and pleased to support its international travel requirements with our flagship Global 8000 aircraft.”
Bombardier said the Global 8000 is designed for long-range missions, combining extended range capabilities with cabin features intended to improve passenger comfort during intercontinental travel. The aircraft also incorporates the manufacturer’s Smooth Flĕx Wing design, which contributes to ride quality across varying flight conditions.
Hani Haddadin, Regional Vice President, Bombardier Aviation, noted that the delivery continues a long-standing relationship between the manufacturer and BUA Group.
“We are proud to see the Global 8000 enter service in Africa with BUA Group, a long-standing and valued Bombardier customer,” said Haddadin. “The Global 8000 represents the third new Bombardier aircraft delivered to BUA Group, underscoring the group’s continued confidence in Bombardier’s products, people and global support network.”
The delivery represents another step in the Global 8000 programme’s entry into service and highlights the increasing emphasis placed on cabin comfort, wellness and productivity as differentiators in the long-range business aviation market.
