General Atomics AeroTec Systems partners with jetlite on circadian cabin lighting for business jets OBERPFAFFENHOFEN, Germany — General Atomics AeroTec Systems has partnered with jetlite GmbH to offer cabin lighting technology designed to support passenger well-being and reduce the effects of social jet lag in business aviation. The collaboration combines jetlite’s human-centric lighting technology with General Atomics AeroTec Systems’ business jet completion, maintenance, and cabin upgrade capabilities. The solution enables cabin lighting to be adjusted according to a passenger’s individual circadian rhythm and travel schedule. According to the companies, the system is based on research in chronobiology and human-centric lighting, aiming to mitigate the disruption of passengers’ natural sleep-wake cycles caused by early-morning, late-night, or long-duration travel. Lighting settings can be controlled by either passengers or crew through an app-based interface. “Our cabin lighting technology is tailored to your individual inner clock, your personal needs, and your cabin interior,” said Dr. Achim Leder, co-founder and managing director of jetlite. “We develop a unique lighting concept based on your specific needs, which we test, evaluate, and photometrically measure on board of the business jet.” The addition expands General Atomics AeroTec Systems’ cabin upgrade portfolio, which includes avionics modernisation, entertainment systems, interior refurbishment, and aircraft painting services offered through its Oberpfaffenhofen facility. “At General Atomics AeroTec Systems, innovation is the core of our business,” said Christian Karl, Head of Sales at General Atomics AeroTec Systems. “We believe the jetlite technology adds significant benefit to the passenger experience in any business jet.” The partnership reflects growing interest in cabin technologies that go beyond aesthetics to address passenger comfort, wellness, and overall travel experience in business aviation interiors.
