Jamco Corporation, a Bain Capital portfolio company and one of Japan’s leading manufacturers of aircraft cabin interior equipment, has signed definitive agreements to acquire Iacobucci HF Aerospace S.p.A. (IHFA). The transaction, announced jointly by Jamco and Bain Capital, is expected to close by the end of 2025, subject to customary regulatory approvals.
Founded in 1994, Italy-based IHFA is widely regarded as a market leader in galley inserts, including espresso and beverage makers, ovens, and trash compactors. The company also holds a strong position in VVIP seating and customized trolley systems. With manufacturing and R&D operations in Ferentino and a global aftermarket service network, IHFA supports airlines worldwide with high-performance, reliability-focused cabin solutions.
Under the terms of the acquisition, Jamco will purchase 100% of IHFA’s shares from a vehicle managed by Lichtenberg Capital and other investors. IHFA will continue operating independently, retaining its full executive team, under the leadership of Kate Schaefer, Executive Chair of Jamco Corporation.
Schaefer said the acquisition marks a pivotal step in Jamco’s strategy to build a comprehensive cabin interiors platform:“Our acquisition of IHFA is highly strategic and accelerates our transformation of Jamco into the leading partner for widebody customers in cabin interiors. The combination of Jamco’s galleys with IHFA’s world-class galley inserts, along with potential synergies in premium seating, will create significant value across engineering, design and customer support.”
IHFA CEO Lucio Iacobucci noted the expanded opportunities the deal will unlock:“IHFA has always been the technology leader in galley inserts. With the support of Jamco and Bain Capital, we can further expand our customer reach and manufacturing footprint to strengthen our leadership in these critical product categories.”
Lichtenberg Capital, which had supported IHFA through the pandemic, described the sale as a natural next step in the company’s growth trajectory.
Managing Director Stefan Hamm said, “IHFA is a strong example of our ability to support founder-led industrial companies through transformation. We are pleased to see the company enter a new chapter of global expansion.”
The acquisition positions Jamco to deliver a more integrated product offering to airlines, especially in the premium and widebody segments, as carriers continue to invest in elevated passenger experience and cabin modernization.
