The Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH) at Dubai South has deepened its collaboration with UUDS AERO, signalling a decisive shift in how the Middle East is positioning itself within the global aircraft interiors value chain.
The expanded partnership comes as airlines and business aviation operators increasingly prioritise cabin modernisation, retrofit programmes, and sustainability-driven interior upgrades. As part of the expansion, UUDS AERO has secured two additional Code F plots at MBRAH, allowing the independent accommodation of up to three widebody aircraft for cabin completion and modification activities. This significantly enhances the region’s ability to handle large-scale cabin programmes locally.

At the centre of the collaboration is MBRAH’s planned 40,000 sq m Cabin Excellence Centre, to be developed within the Airline Manufacturing and Supply Chain Zone. Positioned as the first end-to-end cabin development facility in the region, the centre is designed to bring together design, engineering, manufacturing, certification, and installation under one roof, addressing a long-standing capability gap in the Middle East’s aircraft interiors ecosystem.
From an industry perspective, the initiative reflects bigger structural changes in the interiors market. Airlines are no longer treating cabins as periodic refresh projects; instead, they are becoming strategic assets tied to brand identity, passenger experience, operational efficiency, and environmental performance. This has driven demand for shorter modification timelines, higher levels of customisation, and the integration of eco-efficient materials and technologies across both commercial and business aviation fleets.
The Cabin Excellence Centre is expected to support next-generation interior concepts, including lightweight materials, sustainable finishes, advanced connectivity solutions, and modular cabin designs. By localising these capabilities, MBRAH is enabling operators to reduce dependency on overseas completion centres, improve turnaround times, and gain closer collaboration between designers, engineers, and certifying authorities.
Tahnoon Saif, CEO of Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub, said the expansion aligns with Dubai’s ambition to build a fully integrated aerospace manufacturing and services ecosystem. He noted that the new centre will strengthen the region’s engineering and manufacturing clusters while positioning Dubai South as a hub for cabin innovation.
Gilles Negre, Founder and Chairman of UUDS AERO, said the expanded footprint will allow the company to scale its cabin completion and modification operations in line with rising regional and global demand. He highlighted Dubai South’s connectivity, regulatory framework, and free-zone environment as key enablers for developing environmentally responsible and technologically advanced cabin solutions.
UUDS AERO operates as a fully integrated cabin completion and modification specialist, holding certifications from EASA and GCAA. Its capabilities span cabin design, certification, manufacturing, maintenance, and installation, with an increasing emphasis on sustainability assessments and eco-efficient interior technologies.
For the aircraft interiors industry, the MBRAH–UUDS AERO expansion highlights a clear trend: the emergence of regional, vertically integrated cabin hubs capable of supporting widebody and business aviation fleets at scale. As passenger expectations rise and sustainability becomes non-negotiable, such facilities are likely to play a defining role in shaping the future of aircraft interiors across the Middle East and beyond.
