Honeywell has introduced a third-party support programme for Otto Instruments LASEREF IV inertial reference systems through its MSP-Avionics programme.
The programme provides an additional repair and exchange support option for operators of aircraft equipped with LASEREF IV systems, including a range of Dassault Falcon, Bombardier, Gulfstream and Cessna Citation aircraft.
LASEREF IV is an inertial reference system used to provide aircraft navigation and attitude-related data. Continued support for such legacy avionics can become increasingly important as aircraft remain in service beyond their original equipment support cycles.
Coverage under the new programme is priced at $35 per flight hour per unit, with fleet discounts available. Eligible LASEREF IV part numbers include HG2001GD03, HG2001GD15, HG2001GD20 and HG2001GD40.
Aircraft identified as eligible include the Dassault Falcon 900EX, 900C, 900 A/B, 2000, 2000EX and 50EX; Bombardier Challenger 600 and 601 and BD700; Gulfstream GV, GIV and GIV-SP; Cessna Citation X; and Embraer Legacy 650. Other listed platforms include the Hawker 800/800XP, Dornier 328, Dash 8 and 1000.
West Star Aviation, a Honeywell MSP-Avionics dealer, is supporting operators with programme eligibility, installed part-number verification, coverage reviews and repair or exchange coordination.
The programme gives operators of aircraft fitted with LASEREF IV systems another option for managing component support as the aircraft and their avionics systems remain in service.
