Duncan Aviation’s Lincoln, Nebraska, facility has just completed a remarkable partial interior refurbishment on a GL-5000, bringing a sophisticated blend of aviation design and luxury car-inspired style to the aircraft. With the latest project, Duncan Aviation has showcased its ability to elevate an aircraft’s interior with precision craftsmanship and attention to detail, ensuring both comfort and style for the owner.

One of the most notable features of this refurbishment is the custom seating, which takes inspiration from the owner’s luxury sports car. Duncan Aviation’s design team carefully matched the seat colors to the vehicle’s interior, adding special touches like perforated details and double-stitched quilted inserts. These elements create an upscale, automotive feel while maintaining the aircraft’s overall elegance.

“The seats were designed to reflect the color and sophistication of the owner’s luxury vehicle,” said Jaime Blanken, Lead Designer at Duncan Aviation. “By incorporating these details, we achieved a modern, refined look that complements the rest of the interior perfectly.”

A Modern, Inviting Cabin
The cabin design focuses on a warm, contemporary atmosphere that avoids the traditional beige look. With new carpeting, fabric sidewalls, and updated flooring in the entryway, the space feels fresh and inviting. The neutral wood cabinetry offers a subtle yet elegant backdrop to the eclectic mix of textures and patterns throughout the cabin. Blanken described the result as a “bohemian-inspired” style, combining warmth and modernity in a way that feels both luxurious and comfortable.

Custom Countertops and Flooring for a Seamless Look
In addition to the seating and cabin finishes, the refurbishment included custom countertops in the lavatory and galley areas. Duncan Aviation’s Interior Innovative Solutions team designed a simulated solid surface finish in a grey tone, perfectly complementing the wood veneers and adding a touch of contrast to the aircraft’s overall design.

The aircraft was also outfitted with new grey marble LVT flooring in the entryway and lavatories. The subtle brown and cream veining in the flooring enhances the sophisticated look of the cabin and ties together the various design elements, adding an extra layer of luxury.

Following the completion of the refurbishment, the owner of the GL-5000 expressed his satisfaction with the results. “Man, it sure feels nice to fly on a brand-new airplane!” he remarked after his first flight. According to Jesse Winn, Director of Maintenance at Duncan Aviation, the client was especially impressed with the new seating, calling it a standout feature of the renovation.

“The entire experience has been excellent,” Winn said. “We’ve worked with Duncan Aviation several times, and we will definitely continue to return for their outstanding service. The quality and attention to detail are always top-notch.”

This GL-5000 refurbishment is a perfect example of Duncan Aviation’s expertise in delivering high-quality, custom interior solutions for aircraft owners. From the luxury-inspired seating to the refined cabin finishes, every detail was carefully considered to create a comfortable, stylish, and cohesive environment.
