Duncan Aviation is expanding its support for next-generation in-flight connectivity by offering installation of Gogo Galileo HDX, a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite-based internet system that delivers faster speeds, lower latency, and near-global coverage for business aircraft.
The new connectivity solution uses the Eutelsat OneWeb satellite network and represents the latest step in the industry’s shift from traditional terrestrial and geostationary satellite systems to LEO-based technology, which offers more consistent performance on domestic and international routes.
Duncan Aviation has installed hundreds of Gogo connectivity systems over the years through its major maintenance facilities and satellite service locations, and the Galileo HDX now expands those capabilities with improved global connectivity for business aviation operators.
Faster connectivity with lower latency
One of the early installations was completed on a Bombardier Challenger 605 at Duncan Aviation’s Lincoln facility, where the aircraft’s operator reported a significant improvement in onboard internet performance.
According to Alfredo Fagel, Director of Aviation, the new system has provided higher connection speeds and greater reliability compared with the aircraft’s previous terrestrial-based connectivity solution.
He also praised Duncan Aviation’s installation team for providing regular project updates throughout the installation process, particularly as the system is still relatively new to the business aviation market.
Designed for quick upgrades
A key advantage of the Gogo Galileo HDX is its compatibility with aircraft already equipped with Gogo AVANCE systems, including the L3, L5, LX5 and SCS platforms. In many cases, this allows operators to upgrade without extensive aircraft downtime, although installation time varies depending on each aircraft’s existing configuration.
The compact antenna design also makes the system an attractive option for operators looking to enhance passenger connectivity without major cabin modifications.
A growing priority for business aviation
Reliable high-speed internet has become an increasingly important feature for business aircraft owners, with passengers expecting uninterrupted access to video conferencing, cloud applications and streaming services during flight.
By leveraging the Eutelsat OneWeb enterprise-grade LEO network, the Galileo HDX is designed to deliver consistent performance across global flight routes while reducing the latency often associated with older satellite technologies.
Certification supports wider adoption
Duncan Aviation noted that the company has access to Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) covering installation of the Gogo Galileo system and antenna across multiple aircraft types.
The available STCs have received FAA approval for U.S.-registered aircraft, while several installations for international operators have either secured or are progressing toward approvals from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) and Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).
As passenger expectations for seamless digital connectivity continue to grow, LEO satellite solutions such as Gogo Galileo are becoming an increasingly important part of the modern business aviation cabin experience.
