ST Engineering’s Commercial Aerospace business has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus Defence and Space to undertake a cabin modification programme for an Airbus A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport Plus (A330 MRTT+) aircraft in support of an Airbus customer.
The A330 MRTT+ is the next-generation evolution of the combat-proven A330 MRTT aerial refuelling and transport platform, based on the Airbus A330neo. Under the MoU, both companies have reached a preliminary agreement covering the provision of engineering design, certification and aircraft modification services required for the cabin modification programme.
Kevin Chow, Head of Aerostructures and Systems at ST Engineering, said the A330 MRTT+ cabin modification programme represents another milestone in the long-standing partnership between ST Engineering and Airbus. He highlighted the collaboration’s track record, including passenger-to-freighter conversion programmes through their joint venture in Germany, and noted that ST Engineering will leverage its extensive expertise in integrated cabin interiors solutions to meet the operator’s specific mission and operational requirements.
