Universal Avionics has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) for the installation of its InSight integrated flight display system on the Cessna Citation VII.
The approval adds to existing STCs issued by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA), and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
The Citation VII installation replaces the aircraft’s existing flight displays with the InSight system. The configuration includes engine indication and integration with Universal Avionics’ flight management system (FMS).
The retrofit is intended for aircraft using legacy CRT displays and other older flight deck equipment. According to Universal Avionics, replacing the equipment can reduce maintenance requirements and remove up to 200 lb of weight from the aircraft.
The InSight system supports CPDLC datalink, LPV and RNP precision approaches, and wireless tablet connectivity.
Universal Avionics lists additional InSight STCs for the De Havilland Canada Dash 8, CL-215/CL-415/DHC-515, Dassault Falcon 20/50/50EX/900B/2000/2000EX, Hawker 800A/800B/800XP, Gulfstream G-III and Learjet 35A/36A.
The ANAC certification provides an approved installation pathway for Citation VII operators in Brazil seeking to replace the aircraft’s legacy flight display equipment.
