In a bold stride toward redefining premium air travel, Riyadh Air has unveiled the interiors of its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, signalling its ambition to set new standards in passenger experience. As Saudi Arabia’s new national carrier, backed by the Public Investment Fund, Riyadh Air is poised to commence operations in late 2025, aligning with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 initiative to diversify its economy and enhance tourism.

Business Elite: A Fusion of Comfort and Innovation

At the forefront of Riyadh Air’s offerings is the “Business Elite” class, featuring Safran Unity suites that combine privacy and luxury. Each suite boasts a 6’6″ fully flat bed, a 32-inch 4K OLED display—the largest in any business class—and Devialet’s Euphony sound system, eliminating the need for headphones. Sliding doors ensure personal space, while center suites can be transformed into double beds, catering to couples and families

Premium Economy: Elevated Comfort

The premium economy cabin presents a 2-3-2 seating configuration with Recaro PL3530 seats, offering a 38-inch pitch and 19.2-inch width. Passengers can enjoy 15.6-inch 4K screens, calf rests, and multiple USB-C charging ports. The design incorporates dark marble side tables with gold veining, reflecting the airline’s commitment to aesthetic excellence.

Economy Class: Thoughtful Design for All

Economy passengers are not left behind, with a 3-3-3 seating layout providing a 31-inch pitch and 17.2-inch width. Adjustable six-way headrests, 13.4-inch 4K screens, and dual USB-C charging ports enhance the travel experience, ensuring comfort and connectivity for all.

A Consistent Experience Across the Fleet

CEO Tony Douglas emphasizes the importance of uniformity in passenger experience, stating, “If you buy a ticket with Riyadh Air going forward, it won’t be the lottery that it is with some legacy airlines… you’re never quite sure which one that ticket equates to.” This philosophy ensures that, regardless of the aircraft, passengers can expect the same high-quality service and amenities.

Looking Ahead: First Class and Fleet Expansion

While the initial Boeing 787-9s will not feature a first-class cabin, Riyadh Air is exploring the introduction of this premium offering on future aircraft, such as the Airbus A350 or Boeing 777X. This move aligns with the airline’s goal to cater to the luxury travel segment and position itself as a global competitor in the aviation industry

Conclusion Riyadh Air’s unveiling of its Boeing 787-9 interiors marks a significant milestone in its journey to revolutionize air travel. By blending cutting-edge technology with sophisticated design, the airline is set to offer an unparalleled flying experience, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s broader aspirations on the global stage.
