In a pioneering move to enhance passenger experience, Air India has partnered with Vobble, an Indian kids’ audio platform, to introduce a specially curated in-flight entertainment (IFE) offering for children. The partnership marks a significant step in redefining how India’s flag carrier engages with its youngest passengers, combining the magic of audio storytelling with the comfort of modern aviation.

Starting this month, children flying on select Air India domestic flights will have access to a dedicated audio section for kids, featuring Vobble’s signature content, a rich blend of stories, music, and audio adventures. The content is geared toward children aged 5 to 12 and includes original productions by Vobble designed to stimulate imagination, creativity, and a sense of wonder.

Growing focus on family-friendly In-flight experiences

This move aligns with Air India’s broader ambition under its Vihaan.AI transformation plan, which aims to elevate customer experience, modernize in-flight offerings, and reimagine the airline’s global brand. With family travel on the rise and India’s aviation sector witnessing exponential growth, airlines are increasingly prioritizing passenger segments like young travelers and their parents, and Air India’s Vobble partnership is a timely response to this trend.

According to an Air India spokesperson, “We understand that traveling with children can be a challenge for parents. This initiative is aimed at keeping young flyers engaged and entertained in a safe and meaningful way, while also giving parents some peace of mind.”

Inside the Audio Experience

The Vobble playlist will include a mix of:

  • Original stories with strong Indian cultural themes
  • Edutainment content focusing on science, history, and space
  • Bedtime stories to soothe kids on late-night flights
  • Interactive quizzes and musical games

All content is designed to be screen-free, making it a healthy alternative in a space where screen fatigue is a growing concern for children and adults alike.

The content will initially be rolled out on domestic routes using aircraft equipped with onboard IFE systems. Depending on passenger feedback and operational feasibility, there are plans to expand the offering to international routes in the near future.

For Vobble, a platform founded by Indian entrepreneurs, this collaboration with Air India opens doors to an untapped segment within aviation IFE, tailored audio content for children. Vobble has already carved a niche in the digital parenting ecosystem, and this partnership represents its entry into the travel and mobility sector.

Thrilled to bring Vobble to Air India’s young passengers, Siddharth Bhandari and Shivangi Desai, co-founders of Vobble, said:  “Flying can be a magical time for kids, and we believe our stories and music will make their journey even more memorable. This is just the beginning of creating enriching, screen-free content experiences for children on the go.” With airlines worldwide increasingly turning to differentiated IFE offerings as part of customer retention and brand-building strategies, Air India’s child-centric initiative sets a new benchmark in passenger personalization. As the post-COVID surge in travel continues and as more families take to the skies, the importance of offering thoughtful, inclusive entertainment solutions is only expected to grow.
