Diehl Aviation has been awarded a key role in the next phase of Emirates’ A380 cabin retrofit programme, extending the long-standing partnership between the two companies through 2030.

To enhance support for Emirates and other operators in the region, Diehl Aviation has boosted its Middle East presence with the recent opening of an EASA Part 21G-certified workshop in the Dubai Airport Freezone. Operational since early 2025, the facility enables local production, rework and delivery of cabin components, reducing lead times and improving responsiveness for major programmes such as the A380 retrofit.

The Dubai site will contribute directly to selected work packages on the upcoming phase of the retrofit effort, offering on-site expertise across manufacturing, assembly and logistics.

“Being awarded the next phase of the Emirates A380 retrofit is a strong vote of confidence and an important milestone for Diehl Aviation,” said Harald Mehring, Chief Customer Officer at Diehl Aviation. “With our dedicated team and our new setup in the Dubai Airport Freezone, we are ideally positioned to support Emirates locally. This next phase underscores our commitment to long-term partnerships, operational excellence and customer proximity in one of the world’s most dynamic aviation markets.”

As Emirates continues to refresh the world’s largest A380 fleet, the renewed collaboration reinforces both companies’ focus on enhancing passenger comfort and ensuring operational efficiency across the flagship aircraft type.
