Etihad Airways has significantly enhanced its passenger experience on routes connecting Abu Dhabi with Mumbai and New Delhi, introducing the next-generation Airbus A321LR twice daily on each route. This deployment complements the airline’s existing twice-daily widebody services, resulting in four daily frequencies per city, all now offering a consistent premium experience across cabins.
The move underscores Etihad’s strategic focus on the Indian market, where it serves 11 destinations, while also aligning with a broader industry push toward enhancing passenger wellbeing through improved cabin design and service continuity.
A standout feature of the A321LR is the introduction of a true First Class experience on a narrowbody aircraft, an increasingly rare and differentiated offering. The aircraft features two exclusive First Suites, designed with sliding doors to ensure privacy and personal space.
These suites are thoughtfully configured to support multiple passenger needs, from rest to productivity, with fully flat beds, space for companion seating, and refined finishes using premium textiles. Passenger wellbeing is further enhanced through features such as 20-inch 4K screens, wireless charging, and Bluetooth connectivity, alongside Etihad’s signature First culinary experience. This level of personalisation and comfort brings widebody luxury into a more intimate cabin environment.
Business Class: privacy, comfort and restful travel
In the Business cabin, Etihad has prioritised ergonomics and privacy, offering 14 lie-flat seats, all positioned with direct aisle access, a key factor in reducing passenger disturbance and improving inflight comfort.
Window-facing configurations further enhance the sense of personal space, while the lie-flat design supports better rest on medium-haul routes. Complemented by premium dining, curated amenities, and attentive service, the Business Class experience is tailored to reduce travel fatigue and promote overall passenger wellbeing.
Economy Cabin: comfort meets modern entertainment
Even within the Economy cabin, the A321LR reflects a clear focus on passenger comfort. The 144 ergonomically designed seats are optimised for support and space efficiency, helping to improve posture and reduce discomfort on longer flights.
Each seat is equipped with a 4K touchscreen, offering a diverse entertainment library ranging from Bollywood to Hollywood, ensuring an engaging inflight experience for a wide passenger demographic. High-speed Wi-Fi connectivity across the aircraft further enhances the travel experience, enabling passengers to stay connected and productive.
Seamless ground-to-air premium journey
Beyond the cabin, Etihad has extended its focus on luxury and passenger wellbeing to the ground experience. First Deluxe and Business Deluxe travellers benefit from chauffeur-driven transfers, ensuring a seamless door-to-door journey.
First passengers additionally receive access to the Etihad Concierge service, a personalised travel assistant as well as dedicated Meet and Assist services at the airport, minimising stress and enhancing overall travel ease.
