Korean Air has expanded its First Class pre-order meal service to long-haul flights departing from selected international destinations, allowing passengers to choose their onboard meals before travel.

The service now applies to flights departing from nine cities: Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C., Paris, London and Frankfurt. Orders can be placed from June 1 for flights departing on or after June 22.

Through the airline’s website or mobile app, First Class passengers can select both their first and second inflight meals between 21 days and 24 hours before departure. Meal options include Korean, Western and vegetarian main courses, as well as a choice of appetizers and soups. Additional vegetarian dishes are available exclusively through the pre-order platform.

Korean Air introduced pre-order meals for Prestige Class passengers in January 2023 before extending the service to First Class flights departing from South Korea in October 2024. The latest expansion brings the programme to First Class services originating from major overseas gateways.

According to the airline, the pre-order system is intended to provide passengers with greater certainty over meal availability and enable more tailored meal selections.

A Korean Air representative said: “By expanding our pre-order meal service to overseas departures, we are offering First Class passengers a more personalized and seamless dining experience. This service enhances the passenger experience while strengthening the precision and quality behind Korean Air’s premium inflight dining.”
