ABC International has partnered with WeSky to install a next-generation in-seat power system on an Airbus A330, enhancing passenger connectivity and modernising cabin infrastructure as part of a certified cabin modification programme.

Approved under an EASA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC), the upgrade involved integrating WeSky’s Recharge 60W USB-C in-seat power solution on Airbus A330 MSN 1037. The installation provides both USB-C and USB-A charging ports across Business and Economy Class cabins, ensuring all 305 passengers have access to personal device charging.

To enable the integration, ABC International’s engineering team undertook a comprehensive reconfiguration of the aircraft’s cabin electrical infrastructure. Existing wiring was removed and replaced with newly installed raceways and customised electrical architecture designed to support the new power system. Both Business and Economy Class seats were modified to accommodate the installation, ensuring full compatibility with the upgraded system.

WeSky supplied the complete set of system line replacement units (LRUs), along with customised wire-harness kits tailored specifically to the aircraft’s configuration. The company also supported integration activities, including equipment placement review, harness validation and production verification, helping minimise integration risks and streamline installation.

The Recharge system features a lightweight design that reduces overall aircraft weight compared to conventional widebody in-seat power solutions. Each outlet delivers up to 60W USB-C power and supports Programmable Power Supply (PPS) protocol, enabling efficient charging across a wide range of passenger electronic devices.

Rodolfo Baldascino, CEO of ABC International, said: “This programme reflects our approach to cabin modification projects, where technical integration, operational efficiency and collaboration with specialised partners are key elements. We would like to thank WeSky for their technical support and close cooperation, which enabled the successful integration of the in-seat power system.”

Vytis Petrusevicius, Founder and CEO of WeSky, added: “We are proud to see our Recharge™ system flying on another A330 and grateful to ABC International for selecting WeSky as their technology partner. Our mission is to deliver in-seat power systems that are lighter, smarter and easier to install, and this project demonstrates that vision.”

The project highlights the growing focus on lightweight, efficient cabin technologies designed to improve passenger experience while supporting operational efficiency for aircraft operators.
