South Africa’s low-cost carrier FlySafair has selected Acro Aircraft Seating to equip its Boeing 737 fleet with multiple shipsets of Series 9 Fixed‑Back economy seats. This marks the first collaboration between the two companies, with seat deliveries scheduled from late 2025
The Series 9, initially launched in 2022, is designed specifically for short- to medium-haul operations. It combines lightweight construction with enhanced comfort and ergonomic support features crucial to high-utilisation fleets. According to Acro, the seat offers “exceptional living space at a low‑density seat pitch” while delivering “the lowest effective lifetime cost of purchase and ownership”

FlySafair currently operates a fleet of 33 Boeing 737s, and the introduction of Series 9 seats will mark the first time the airline works with Acro. The rollout is planned to begin at the end of 2025, with shipsets tailored to each aircraft’s configuration.
