Air Canada is rolling out a major refurbishment program for 25 De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft operated under the Air Canada Express brand by Jazz Aviation.
The initiative introduces Fast, Free Wi-Fi, an industry first for the Dash 8-400 type, starting in October on flights between Toronto Billy Bishop City Airport, Montréal, and Ottawa. The airline stated that the remaining aircraft will be progressively equipped, with completion expected by 2026.

The aircraft will also receive new ergonomic seats from Expliseat, featuring multi-use device holders and redesigned seat covers, with installations scheduled to finish by mid-2026. In addition, cabins will be refreshed with new colours and textures inspired by Canadian landscapes to align more closely with Air Canada’s mainline interiors.
“This project reflects the pride we take in serving customers with care and class,” said Mark Nasr, Air Canada EVP and COO. Doug Clarke, President of Jazz Aviation, called the investment a shared commitment to operational excellence and customer service.
The upgrades form part of Air Canada’s regional strategy to enhance passenger experience and strengthen feed to its international network.
