Bell Textron has secured the first United Kingdom order for an Instrument Flight Rules (IFR)-configured Bell 407GXi, marking the debut of the platform’s IFR configuration kit in the UK while showcasing the growing appeal of premium rotorcraft interiors for corporate and VIP operations.

Announced at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, the order highlights increasing demand for helicopters that combine advanced flight capabilities with elevated passenger comfort and refined cabin aesthetics.

The Bell 407GXi features Bell’s Designer Series interior, introduced in 2025 to redefine the cabin experience for business aviation customers. The premium interior package incorporates luxury materials, enhanced craftsmanship, and a contemporary cabin design to deliver a sophisticated VIP travel environment without compromising operational versatility.

According to Bell, pairing the IFR capability with the Designer Series interior creates a platform that is equally suited for executive transport, corporate travel and high-end charter missions, while maintaining the flexibility required for utility, emergency medical services and search-and-rescue operations.

“Our team is honoured to celebrate this signing and expand our Bell 407GXi offerings to customers in the United Kingdom,” said Robin Wendling, Managing Director, Europe, Bell. “The Bell 407GXi has earned its name as a multi-mission workhorse, and we continue to see steady interest in the platform across the region.”

Wendling added that the combination of IFR capability and the Designer Series interior provides customers with “the ultimate VIP experience”, offering enhanced comfort alongside operational capability to meet evolving business aviation requirements.

Beyond its cabin enhancements, the Bell 407GXi is equipped with the Garmin G1000H NXi Flight Deck. This advanced all-glass avionics suite enhances pilot situational awareness and operational safety while complementing the aircraft’s premium travel experience.

Ahead of the Farnborough announcement, Bell completed a UK demonstration tour of the Bell 407GXi, with stops at Lydd Airport, Goodwood and High Wycombe, showcasing both the aircraft’s operational performance and its upgraded interior offering to prospective customers.

As rotorcraft operators increasingly seek aircraft that deliver both mission flexibility and elevated passenger experiences, Bell’s latest UK order reflects a broader trend towards integrating luxury cabin design with advanced avionics and all-weather operational capability, particularly within the corporate and VIP helicopter segment.
