British Airways is proud to announce that it will be the first airline to offer prestige cuvée English sparkling wines in its First cabin, enhancing the in-flight experience for its customers. This initiative is part of the airline’s commitment to showcasing British excellence and providing passengers with exceptional, locally sourced beverages.
The airline has partnered with renowned English wine producers, including Nyetimber, Gusbourne, and Sugrue South Downs, to curate a selection of premium sparkling wines. These will be available on a rotational basis throughout the year, offering passengers a diverse and sophisticated tasting experience.
Starting March 30, 2025, passengers traveling in the First cabin can enjoy the 1086 by Nyetimber Rosé 2014, followed by the 1086 by Nyetimber 2014 from October. Gusbourne’s Fifty-One Degrees North 2016 will be featured in July, and a new offering from Dermot Sugrue of Sugrue South Downs will be available in January 2026.

In the Club World (business class) cabin, the selection includes Digby Fine English’s Brut NV, Gusbourne’s 2019 Vintage Rosé from July, Hattingley Valley’s Blanc de Noirs from October, Roebuck’s Reserve Brut 2020 from January 2026, and Digby’s Leander Pink Brut NV from April 2026. Additionally, passengers can sample Balfour Rosé de Noirs and Simpsons Chalklands Cuvée Brut NV at a dedicated English sparkling wine tasting area in the Galleries First lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 5.
Sajida Ismail, British Airways’ Director of Onboard Experience, expressed enthusiasm about the new offerings: “We are delighted to be the first airline to offer our customers a taste of some of the finest English sparkling wines, showcasing the best of British. These premium options reflect our commitment to enhancing the onboard experience and celebrating local producers.”
This initiative aligns with British Airways’ £7 billion transformation plan aimed at elevating the customer experience. The airline has also trained over 1,300 cabin crew members through its First Service Specialist program, which includes a bespoke wine masterclass led by the airline’s Master of Wine.
By introducing these prestigious English sparkling wines, British Airways continues to champion British originality and provide its passengers with a world-class in-flight experience.
