Emirates celebrates Diwali with sweets, cocktails, and curated entertainment

Emirates is set to bring the spirit of Diwali to the skies, offering passengers festive delicacies, themed beverages, and rich entertainment options across its inflight and lounge experiences from October 17 to 24.

To mark the Festival of Lights, customers flying to and from India, including destinations such as Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, and Mumbai, can enjoy a range of specially curated Diwali sweet treats across all cabin classes.

In Economy and Premium Economy, passengers will be served motichoor laddus with their hot meals. At the same time, First and Business Class guests can indulge in kaju pista rolls, a rose-flavoured cashew and pistachio delicacy adorned with silver leaf.

Festive flavours in Emirates lounges

At the Emirates First and Business Class Lounges in Dubai, guests can savour Indian favourites such as onion kachori and paneer potli samosa, accompanied by chutneys, followed by an array of traditional sweets like balushahi, kesar rasgulla, and gajar ka halwa. The celebration extends to the drinks menu, with exclusive cocktails such as the Spicy Saffron Martini and Elderflower Gin Fizz, alongside mocktails including Chai Chat Latte and Berry Basil Splash.

Emirates lounges in Cape Town and Johannesburg will also join the celebrations, offering travellers from the Indian diaspora gulab jamun, rice pudding, and mango lassi.

Festive entertainment onboard

To complement the culinary experience, Emirates’ award-winning ice inflight entertainment system will feature a dedicated Diwali collection, offering 167 Indian films across nine regional languages and 14 Indian TV programmes, including popular titles like The Traitors India and Love, Life, Lafde with Zakir Khan. Passengers can also tune in to over 40 Indian music albums and playlists, creating a festive atmosphere at 35,000 feet.

With these thoughtful touches, Emirates continues to enhance its inflight and lounge offerings, bringing cultural celebrations to life for passengers worldwide.
