Immfly and Volotea will conduct a 12-month trial of a high-speed low Earth orbit (LEO) in-flight connectivity solution as part of an expanded partnership covering connectivity, IFE and onboard retail.
The trial, scheduled to begin in late 2026, will be installed on an Airbus A320 equipped with Immfly’s Equilux onboard server and wireless IFE platform. The system will combine a Gogo electronically steered array (ESA) antenna with the Eutelsat LEO constellation to deliver high-bandwidth connectivity.
Alongside the trial, the partners plan a fleet-wide rollout of narrowband connectivity using Iridium Communications across Volotea’s Airbus A319 and A320 fleet. This capability will support passenger messaging services and operational applications.

The programme also includes the phased introduction of an onboard retail platform, featuring crew point-of-sale systems, back-end data tools and passenger-facing services such as pre-ordering and in-seat purchasing. These services are designed to operate across both narrowband and high-speed connectivity environments.
