INGENIO Aerospace has rolled out the AeroPortal modular connectivity system designed to simplify aircraft interior technology integration and support a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA). The system consists of two core components, the AeroPuck and AeroReceptacle, which create standardized electromechanical connection points within the cabin and cockpit.

The setup allows quick installation or replacement of devices such as lighting, screens, cameras, or charging modules without rewiring or certification changes. It is intended to reduce modification costs, installation time, and complexity for operators and completion centers while maintaining design flexibility.

According to James Bell, President and CEO of INGENIO Aerospace, the AeroPortal system enables interchangeable, high-speed, high-power connectivity, providing time and cost efficiencies for installers and aircraft owners.

Aloft AeroArchitects, a Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) service center, will complete the first installation of the AeroPortal system. The company said the platform allows easier upgrades to changing technologies, such as moving from USB Type A to USB Type C, without major engineering work.

Colby Hall, Managing Director of Emerging Technology and Innovation at Aloft, said the system’s modular architecture aligns with the company’s MOSAIC Aero framework, which focuses on adaptable aircraft interiors.

The AeroPuck component supports USB PD charging up to 100W, 10Gb Ethernet speeds, and accessories weighing up to 30lb. It is built from aviation-grade aluminum, qualified to DO-160G standards, and features customizable bezels and a quick-disconnect mechanism.

The AeroPortal system is being positioned for use across VVIP, business, commercial, and military aircraft, with INGENIO highlighting its potential to streamline interior integration and future upgrades.
