tangerine and Sabeti Wain Aerospace have introduced Slouch 2.0, an updated version of their seating comfort system for Economy and Premium Economy cabins.
The system builds on the original Slouch concept introduced in 2025, developed to address passenger posture and lower back support without increasing seat pitch or seat footprint.
Slouch uses a 3D-sculpted section of the seatback membrane, adjusted via controls positioned on either side of the seat cushion. The mechanism moves the support forward to provide additional lower back support, reducing the tendency of passengers to slide forward into a slouched position during flight.

The updated version introduces a revised control mechanism aimed at improving ease of use, along with an updated dress cover developed by Sabeti Wain Aerospace to better integrate with current seat designs.
The system is designed for both line-fit and retrofit applications, allowing integration without full seat replacement.
Seat comfort in high-density cabins remains a constraint-driven challenge, particularly in Economy and Premium Economy where seat pitch limits structural changes. As a result, suppliers are increasingly focusing on ergonomic enhancements through materials, seat geometry and dress cover engineering.
Retrofit-compatible solutions are gaining traction as airlines seek incremental improvements to passenger comfort while managing cost, downtime and certification complexity. The collaboration between tangerine and Sabeti Wain Aerospace reflects this broader shift towards modular, adaptable seating innovations.
