Acro Aircraft Seating is making significant strides in sustainability by focusing on smart design and collaborative efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its products. The company’s Series 9 seat exemplifies this commitment, weighing just 7.5 kg per passenger and achieving a recyclability rate of 98.83%.
This achievement is the result of a partnership with the Aircraft Interior Recycling Association (AIRA), which has developed a system to track, process, and recycle seat components using unique numerical identification codes.
Acro’s proactive approach to sustainability extends beyond product design.
“As an aircraft interior manufacturer, we are in a perfect position to help airlines reduce emissions, increase material traceability, and reduce waste at both ends of the manufacturing cycle,” says Acro. The company has implemented various initiatives, including improving recycling rates, reducing waste, and investing in energy-efficient technologies. These efforts reflect Acro’s dedication to creating a circular economy within the aviation industry and supporting airlines in meeting their emissions reduction targets.
