Following the overwhelming success of its debut collection in 2023, Emirates has unveiled the second edition of ‘Aircrafted’ by Emirates, a limited-edition line of handmade luggage and accessories, meticulously fashioned from upcycled aircraft cabin materials. The 2025 ‘Aircrafted Collection’ is now available at the Emirates Official Store and features just 167 collectors’ items, expected to be snapped up within days.
Each piece offers aviation enthusiasts and sustainability advocates alike a tangible slice of aviation history, crafted from materials sourced from Emirates’ flagship Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s currently undergoing retrofits. With the previous collection raising over USD 17,000 for the Emirates Airline Foundation, the airline confirms that proceeds from this latest release will again support children’s welfare initiatives worldwide.
Unique cabin materials repurposed into high-end collectibles
The 2025 collection showcases three trolley bag styles, back by popular demand alongside two sleek backpacks and two distinctive handbags, one of which is made from the fur covering of an Emirates Captain’s seat. Prices range from $80 to $350, with each item handcrafted to reflect the airline’s design ethos.
All materials have been ethically salvaged from 63 aircraft already retrofitted under Emirates’ cabin upgrade program. Over 30,000 kilograms of cabin elements ranging from aluminium headrests, leather from First and Business Class seating, to sofas from the A380’s iconic onboard lounge have been repurposed so far.

Prior to assembly, all fabrics and leathers undergo a rigorous cleaning process, including industrial laundering, hand sanitisation, and conditioning. Items are finished with fresh lining, quality zippers, and in some cases, feature Emirates’ original seatbelts as functional bag straps blending aviation authenticity with design ingenuity.
Handmade in Emirates’ engineering cabin workshop
Every item in the ‘Aircrafted’ line is handmade by a dedicated in-house team of 14 tailors officially titled Engineering Maintenance Assistants stationed at Emirates Engineering’s cabin workshop in Dubai. Originally responsible for mending upholstery and seat covers across the airline’s fleet, the growing success of the ‘Aircrafted’ initiative, along with ‘Aircrafted’ KIDS, has resulted in the formation of a full-time team exclusively focused on crafting these sustainable collector’s items.
Supporting the largest retrofit program in commercial aviation
The ‘Aircrafted’ initiative is an offshoot of Emirates’ ambitious retrofit project, launched in August 2022. The airline is investing billions to transform the interiors of 219 aircraft comprising its entire Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 fleet into next-generation passenger environments.
Spearheaded entirely in-house by Emirates Engineering, the retrofit includes installation of nearly 4,000 Premium Economy seats, refurbishment of 728 First Class suites, and upgrades to over 5,000 Business Class seats with refreshed designs and advanced materials. The program reflects Emirates’ long-term vision of elevating passenger experience while embracing responsible lifecycle practices for aircraft interiors.
Through ‘Aircrafted by Emirates’, the airline is not only preserving elements of its premium cabin legacy but also advancing the global conversation around sustainability and circular design in aircraft interiors.
