Embraer has selected Expliseat’s TiSeat 2X as a Buyer Furnished Equipment (BFE) economy-class seat option for its E-Jet E1 and E2 aircraft, allowing operators to specify the seat as a factory line-fit option.
The agreement covers the TiSeat 2X Lite and TiSeat 2X Prime variants and enables airlines to benefit from reduced seat weight, improved fuel efficiency, and enhanced cabin features from aircraft delivery, without the need for post-delivery retrofit.
According to Expliseat, the TiSeat 2X achieves up to 30% weight reduction compared to conventional economy seats, resulting in lower fuel consumption and reduced CO₂ emissions. The seat structure uses a titanium–carbon composite design, intended to reduce maintenance requirements while improving durability.

Passenger-facing features available on the TiSeat 2X include adjustable headrests, dual USB charging ports, and personal electronic device holders, which support improved comfort and connectivity during regional and short-haul operations.
The seat is already in commercial service. Since September 2025, Air France HOP has operated the TiSeat 2X Prime on its Embraer E190 fleet, including flights between Paris and Hamburg. Expliseat said the seats have demonstrated strong performance in high-utilisation environments, with positive passenger feedback.
Production of TiSeat 2X seats for Embraer programmes will take place at Expliseat’s manufacturing facility in Angers, France. The company stated that its secured production capacity provides delivery stability amid ongoing aerospace supply-chain challenges.
The selection expands Embraer’s cabin options for the up to 150-seat segment, where weight savings and operating economics are key considerations for airlines.
