Virgin Atlantic has announced a new inflight audio content partnership with Stellar Entertainment, aimed at redefining the airline’s onboard entertainment experience through a more personalised, immersive and brand-led audio offering.
Under the collaboration, Virgin Atlantic gains access to Stellar Entertainment’s extensive music industry network, including direct partnerships with three major record labels and a broad range of independent labels. This enables the airline to offer a wider and more diverse music catalogue than is typically available through standard in-flight entertainment providers.
The result is a bespoke in-flight audio experience designed to reflect Virgin Atlantic’s creative brand identity, while enhancing passenger comfort, mood and engagement throughout the journey.
Unlike conventional IFE music offerings that rely on fixed provider catalogues, Virgin Atlantic’s new audio programme allows access to exclusive and frequently refreshed content. Passengers can enjoy everything from current chart hits and iconic classics to niche genres and emerging artists, creating a more curated and contemporary listening experience across all cabins.

“In a competitive market, creating an experience that connects with guests beyond their flight is a powerful differentiator,” said Cathy Walters, Manager, Inflight Entertainment, Content, Virgin Atlantic. “Through Stellar Entertainment’s expertise and access to music, we are building an audio presence that feels memorable and authentic, underpinning our entertainment heritage and continuing to engage with our customers long after their journey.”
The enhanced audio experience begins as soon as passengers board the aircraft, with mood-setting music designed to shape the cabin atmosphere. Depending on the time of day, travellers are welcomed with either upbeat daytime playlists or softer, calming soundscapes to support relaxation during overnight flights.
Throughout the flight, passengers have access to a wide selection of curated albums and playlists tailored to different phases of the journey, from boarding and dining to working, relaxing and sleeping. This approach positions audio as a core element of the onboard sensory experience, complementing lighting, cabin design and service flow.
The partnership also extends beyond the cabin through Virgin Atlantic’s Spotify channel, where the airline will release monthly curated playlists reflecting its brand energy and onboard mood. This allows passengers to relive their inflight experience after landing or preview the atmosphere of their next journey, transforming audio into an ongoing brand engagement tool rather than a purely onboard feature.
“Our partnerships across the music industry give us the ability to source and deliver content others simply cannot,” said Sam Allen, Chief Executive Officer, Stellar Entertainment. “We work directly with major labels and a broad network of independent partners, which means Virgin Atlantic can offer a mix of music that feels current, interesting and authentic.”
Stellar Entertainment will continuously refresh the in-flight audio catalogue, with regular updates ensuring access to the latest releases alongside enduring favourites. Monthly updates will also be rolled out across Virgin Atlantic’s Spotify platform, keeping the airline’s audio presence fresh, relevant and aligned with evolving passenger preferences.
The enhanced audio experience is now available across Virgin Atlantic’s fleet, marking a significant step in the airline’s ongoing efforts to deliver in-flight entertainment that reflects its spirit of innovation, creativity and customer-centric design.
