British Airways has introduced audiobook and podcast content from Audible to its in-flight entertainment system on long-haul flights.
The agreement provides passengers with access to more than 250 hours of spoken-word content, including audiobooks and podcasts, available through the airline’s onboard entertainment platform.
The content library includes a range of genres such as fiction, children’s programming, and popular culture, with a focus on British authors and performers. Titles available include audio adaptations of Harry Potter, Pride & Prejudice, and collections narrated by Stephen Fry.

This marks the first time Audible content has been made available on board a UK airline.
Tom McKenna, Audible’s Global Head of Media, Ops & Business Development, said: “We’re thrilled to bring Audible’s premium audio storytelling to British Airways customers, making it easier than ever for passengers to turn travel time into an enriching audio experience.”
Passengers will be able to access the content free of charge during the flight. In addition, new Audible users are offered a two-month trial to continue listening after their journey.
The move is part of British Airways’ broader update to its in-flight entertainment offering. Since January 2025, the airline has added more than 4,600 titles across its content library.
British Airways’ Director of Marketing, Hamish McVey, said: “Spoken-word entertainment has surged in popularity over the past few years, and our collaboration with Audible brings an exciting new chapter to our in‑flight entertainment offering.
The airline has also recently partnered with Anuvu to expand its onboard entertainment systems, including a wider range of international and independent content.
According to industry data cited by the airline, audiobook listening in the UK increased by 31% in 2024, while podcast audiences continue to grow, with an estimated 15.5 million listeners in 2025.
