Japan Airlines has selected the R2 economy class seat from RECARO Aircraft Seating for its new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
The R2 seats will be installed across the airline’s new narrowbody fleet, with features including USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports, a “bring your own device” (BYOD) holder, and redesigned seat cushions. The seats also include integrated headrests, dual literature pockets, and a larger tray table to support passenger use for work or dining.
The seat design focuses on weight optimisation and ergonomics, while incorporating customised dress covers aligned with Japan Airlines’ cabin interiors.
