Geven will supply its Essenza SE economy class seats to airlines within the Lufthansa Group, including Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings.

The Essenza SE seats will be installed on single-aisle aircraft for both linefit and retrofit programmes, with deployments expected across multiple fleets. The programme is planned to support capacity for up to 45,000 passengers.

The seat design focuses on weight reduction and passenger ergonomics, and includes features such as improved legroom clearance, personal electronic device (PED) holders and USB-C power integration.

The agreement builds on an existing collaboration between Geven and Lufthansa Group, with ongoing joint development and alignment on cabin product requirements.

Pasquale Rapullini, Sales & Business Development Manager at Geven, said: “The Essenza SE family represents a step forward in the evolution of our product platform, combining comfort, lightweight design and onboard digital features, developed in close cooperation with Lufthansa Group.”

The programme reflects continued investment by airline groups in updated economy class seating to support both new aircraft deliveries and cabin retrofit initiatives.
