American Airlines has introduced an updated inflight food offering for Main Cabin passengers, adding new snack boxes, branded products and refreshed meal options on select routes.
From May 1, passengers can purchase a new “Inflight Bites” snack box, priced at $10 or 1,000 AAdvantage miles. The box includes items such as gochujang beef jerky, crackers, olives, a granola bar, cookies, cashews and a cheese spread.
The airline has also added branded snack options through a partnership with Nuts on Clark, a Chicago-based food company. New items include roasted salted mixed nuts, alongside popcorn products from Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP. These are available for purchase on board, with pricing varying by item.

In addition to snacks, American has revised its fruit and cheese tray, which now includes a selection of cheeses from Tillamook, along with fruit, nuts, crackers, honey and chocolate. The tray is priced at $13 or 1,300 miles.
Further meal updates are scheduled from June 1, when passengers on select flights within the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico will have access to an additional sandwich option. The turkey and Havarti sandwich will be offered as a buy-on-board item, accompanied by chips and a dessert.

Payment options for onboard purchases include contactless transactions and the use of AAdvantage loyalty points.
The update reflects a broader trend among carriers to expand buy-on-board menus with a mix of branded snacks and upgraded meal components as part of incremental improvements to the economy cabin experience.
