Aircraft interiors specialist ACS UK has announced a major expansion of its operations with the opening of a new facility in Cambridge, strengthening its manufacturing capacity as demand for premium cabin interior solutions continues to grow.
The new site, named Novus, is located adjacent to the company’s existing Cambridge facility and represents a significant investment in production capability, innovation and customer support. Covering 21,467 square feet across two floors, the facility will house dedicated final assembly lines, as well as testing and development areas, enabling ACS UK to support an expanding order book and deliver projects more efficiently.
Strong market demand
The expansion follows an exceptionally strong commercial performance for ACS UK in 2026. The company reported that it exceeded its new business sales targets within the first few months of the year, reflecting growing demand for aircraft interior solutions and strengthening relationships with airline customers.
The positive momentum has also been supported by increased market activity, with airlines continuing to invest in cabin refurbishment and fleet modernisation programmes. ACS UK also reported a successful presence at this year’s Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX), where growing customer engagement reinforced confidence in the company’s long-term growth strategy.
According to the company, the additional production capacity provided by the Novus facility will enable it to scale operations while maintaining the high standards of quality, responsiveness and customer service that have become central to its business.
Next phase of growth
Commenting on the expansion, Nigel McSorley, CEO of ACS UK, said the investment reflects both the company’s recent commercial success and its confidence in future market opportunities. “This expansion is a direct response to the strength of our business and the confidence we have in our future. Our return to the market has exceeded expectations, with demand significantly outpacing our initial projections and our order books performing strongly,” he said.
“Now is the right time to invest further in our facilities. The new site gives us the infrastructure to increase production, enhance the customer experience and build for the next phase of our growth.”
Customer experience and innovation
Beyond increasing manufacturing capacity, Novus has been designed to provide a modern environment for customer collaboration. Dedicated areas for product development and testing will allow ACS UK to work more closely with airline customers while showcasing its capabilities in aircraft interior design, manufacturing and certification.
The expansion is expected to strengthen the company’s ability to deliver increasingly customised cabin solutions as airlines continue investing in premium passenger experiences and cabin upgrades.
Designed with sustainability
The one-acre Cambridge site also reflects ACS UK’s commitment to sustainable operations. The facility incorporates electric vehicle charging points, photovoltaic solar panels for on-site energy generation, cycle storage and 60 additional parking spaces, creating a modern workplace for employees while supporting environmentally responsible business practices.
The Novus facility is expected to become fully operational later this year.
