Lufthansa has dropped its latest long-haul “Dreamliner” featuring the airline’s innovative Allegris cabin concept, now available at its Frankfurt hub. The Boeing 787-9, christened “Frankfurt am Main” by Hesse’s Minister-President Boris Rhein, marks a significant step in Lufthansa’s fleet renewal, bringing premium comfort and modern design to passengers departing from Frankfurt.
Allegris redefines the travel experience across all classes with innovative seating concepts, high-quality materials, and state-of-the-art technology, ensuring both comfort and convenience on long-haul journeys. Passengers traveling to destinations such as Toronto, Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, Hyderabad, and Austin can now enjoy these enhanced cabins.

Carsten Spohr, CEO of Deutsche Lufthansa AG, said:
“This Boeing 787-9 is another milestone in our fleet modernization journey. We are delighted to bring the Allegris experience to Frankfurt, our largest hub, offering passengers a premium travel experience with the latest in comfort and technology.”
The Lufthansa Group plans to introduce 100 new long-haul aircraft by 2030, with half of these operating from Frankfurt. The new generation of aircraft, including the 787-9, is quieter, more fuel-efficient, and environmentally friendly, consuming approximately 2.5 liters of kerosene per passenger per 100 kilometers, which reduces CO₂ emissions by around 25% compared to previous models.
The “Frankfurt am Main” (D-ABPF) continues Lufthansa’s long-standing tradition of naming aircraft after cities and regions, carrying the spirit of its home hub around the world. This is the seventh aircraft to bear the name, including Lufthansa’s first Airbus A380.
