Inflight connectivity and entertainment provider Anuvu has appointed Simon Sutton as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective June 15, 2026, succeeding Joshua Marks, who has led the company since 2018.

The leadership transition comes as airlines continue to increase investment in passenger connectivity and digital entertainment, creating new opportunities for suppliers focused on inflight content, broadband connectivity and onboard digital services.

Sutton brings more than 25 years of experience across the media, entertainment and digital sectors. He spent 14 years at HBO, most recently serving as President and Chief Revenue Officer, where he oversaw operations generating approximately $7 billion in annual revenue and serving 130 million subscribers across networks, direct-to-consumer platforms and international businesses in more than 100 countries.

His previous leadership roles also include CEO of podcast company Luminary Media, where he helped guide the fast-growing digital audio platform, as well as senior executive positions at MGM, Liberty Global and McKinsey & Company.

Ali Bajwa, Principal at Platinum Equity, Anuvu’s owner, said Sutton’s experience in scaling global media and content distribution businesses positions him to lead the company through its next phase of growth. He also acknowledged Marks’ contributions during his eight-year tenure as CEO.

Commenting on his appointment, Sutton said he was joining the company at a significant stage in the evolution of connectivity and entertainment and looked forward to working with customers and partners to expand value and enhance passenger experiences.

Marks said he was proud of the milestones achieved during his time leading the company and expressed confidence in Anuvu’s future under Sutton’s leadership.

Anuvu provides connectivity and entertainment solutions to airlines and other mobility markets, supporting passenger engagement through inflight internet services, content licensing and digital entertainment platforms. The company has been expanding its role in the connected cabin ecosystem as airlines increasingly view onboard connectivity and entertainment as key elements of the passenger experience.

Sutton holds an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University’s Magdalen College. He has also served on numerous corporate boards throughout his career.
