Bain Capital has strengthened its presence in the aircraft interiors sector with the acquisition of Aerospace Technology Group (ATG) through Jamco Corporation, a leading manufacturer of cabin equipment and premium seating solutions.

Headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, ATG is recognized globally for its electric window shade systems, including the flagship aerBlade, which has become standard on Bombardier, Gulfstream, and Textron Aviation’s business jet platforms. The company also maintains facilities in Dubai and Toulouse to support its commercial and VIP aviation customers.

Following the transaction, both ATG and Jamco will operate independently under Bain Capital ownership. Leadership for both organizations will be guided by Kate Schaefer, who serves as executive chair. Schaefer said the acquisition represents “the first step in realizing our vision to transform Jamco into the leading global platform for cabin interiors. The combination of ATG’s aerBlade product and Jamco’s business class seat offering, together with Jamco’s cabin modification and engineering certification capabilities, creates strong industrial logic for this combination.”

ATG’s CEO, Mario Ceste, also welcomed the move. “ATG has been supported by Jacqueline Autry’s ownership for many years, and on behalf of all ATG employees, we are deeply grateful. At the same time, we are excited for ATG’s new chapter of growth under Bain Capital’s ownership and see many opportunities from the partnership with Jamco.”

The acquisition process was supported by industry advisors, with KAL Capital acting as exclusive financial advisor to ATG under legal counsel from Sheppard Mullin. Seabury Securities and Ropes & Gray represented Bain Capital.

Nick Gattas, managing director of Bain Capital’s Asia Private Equity team, highlighted the innovation potential of the combined companies, stating: “We are excited to partner with Mario and the ATG team for the next chapter of growth, continuing ATG’s strong entrepreneurial culture focused on product innovation and customer support.”

With US$185 billion in assets under management, Bain Capital’s addition of ATG enhances its aircraft interiors portfolio, combining advanced shade technology with Jamco’s engineering and seating expertise. The move positions the group to deliver a broader range of solutions to airlines, OEMs, and private aviation clients seeking enhanced passenger experience and cabin innovation.
