Emirates is marking the Onam harvest festival with a specially designed inflight experience for passengers travelling between Dubai and Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram until 6 September.
The airline has curated an authentic Kerala-inspired menu across all cabin classes, with highlights such as banana chips, yoghurt-marinated chillies, coconut-based curries, and traditional vegetarian sadhya. First Class customers can also enjoy Kerala-style chicken stew, while desserts include palada pradhaman and parippu payasam. To reflect the festive tradition, meals are presented on banana leaf dish liners, bringing a sense of cultural authenticity to the onboard dining environment.
The initiative blends Emirates’ culinary expertise with cultural design touches, reinforcing the role of food as part of the overall cabin experience. “Seasonal menus allow us to recreate the feeling of celebration onboard and connect customers with their traditions, even at 40,000 feet,” the airline noted.

Complementing the dining experience, Emirates’ ice entertainment system has expanded its Malayalam offering for the season, with 15 regional films, a wide selection of Indian cinema, and curated music albums.
By combining authentic cuisine with entertainment rooted in regional culture, Emirates continues to position the inflight journey as an immersive extension of cultural celebrations, in this case, bringing the spirit of Onam directly into the cabin interior experience.
