The first installation of Gogo’s Galileo system in Brazil has been completed on a Bombardier Global 6000, marking an early adoption milestone for multi-orbit in-flight connectivity in the country’s business aviation market.
The aircraft owner opted to combine low-earth orbit (LEO) connectivity with an existing geostationary earth orbit (GEO) setup to improve coverage resilience and network redundancy during international operations. The aircraft was already equipped with Gogo’s Plane Simple Ku-band terminal operating on the SES FlexExec GEO satellite network, installed in 2024 by Brazilian maintenance and aviation services provider Líder Aviação.
Líder Aviação has now added the Gogo Galileo HDX electronically steered antenna, which operates on the Eutelsat OneWeb LEO network. According to Gogo, the HDX system is designed for light- to large-cabin business aircraft and supports speeds of up to 60 Mbps.

The installation reflects a broader shift in business aviation connectivity, where operators are increasingly adopting hybrid or multi-orbit architectures that combine GEO and LEO satellite networks. While GEO systems continue to provide broad coverage and established reliability, LEO constellations are being introduced to reduce latency and improve performance in regions where traditional satellite coverage may be less consistent, including remote and polar routes.
“The customer specifically sought to incorporate a LEO solution into the aircraft, recognizing its cost advantages, while still delivering exceptional performance. Travelling both within Brazil but also internationally, the aircraft owner wanted to keep their Gogo Plane Simple system to ensure multi-orbit redundancy,” said Ewerton Libanio, Managing Director.
Libanio added that the combination of GEO and LEO networks “enables broader global coverage – including remote and polar regions – while optimizing performance through lower latency, higher throughput, and intelligent traffic routing.”
Gogo said its multi-orbit system dynamically selects the most suitable available network in real time to maintain connectivity continuity and reduce service interruptions. The company also noted that aircraft equipped with its systems have access to cybersecurity services, multilingual technical support, and operational assistance.
