Southwest Airlines has partnered with Peet’s Coffee to offer its signature brews onboard all flights beginning August 13, marking a notable enhancement to its inflight service offering. The collaboration brings premium coffee to the cabin environment, part of Southwest’s broader strategy to elevate passenger comfort and onboard hospitality.

This partnership is the first of its kind for Peet’s Coffee with a major US airline and debuts with Off the Grid, a medium roast blend sourced from Colombia and El Salvador. Known for its balanced yet complex flavor profile, the blend has been curated specifically to satisfy diverse palates at cruising altitudes where taste perception can differ from on-ground experiences.

“Being part of every Southwest flight is a milestone for Peet’s,” said Eric Lauterbach, President & CEO, Peet’s Coffee. “We’re not just extending our reach—we’re enriching the inflight coffee ritual with bold flavor and craftsmanship that travels well at altitude.”

Peet’s already maintains a strong presence in 25 airports served by Southwest, including major bases such as Denver, Houston, and Phoenix. Now, the onboard coffee experience aligns with what frequent flyers already enjoy on the ground—seamlessly bridging terminal and cabin.

For Southwest, this move is part of a continued effort to refine its inflight product and modernize the passenger journey.

“Coffee is a small detail that makes a big difference,” said Tony Roach, EVP of Customer & Brand at Southwest Airlines. “By bringing Peet’s onboard, we’re adding quality and comfort to our inflight service in a way that aligns with our brand values.”

To celebrate the launch, Peet’s and Southwest will co-host a co-branded activation at the Peet’s East 8th Street café in Chicago on August 15–16, timed with the city’s Air and Water Show. The event will offer product tastings and interactive experiences to showcase the partnership’s alignment with travel, innovation, and comfort.

This initiative underscores a growing trend in the aircraft interiors and services space: bringing premium, recognizable consumer brands into the cabin environment to create a more familiar, high-quality experience for passengers. As airline differentiation increasingly hinges on comfort, personalization, and brand partnerships, such enhancements play a key role in shaping inflight service evolution.
