A major cabin connectivity upgrade under the airline’s £7bn transformation plan

British Airways has announced a landmark agreement with Starlink to introduce free, high-speed Wi-Fi for every passenger in every cabin, as part of its ongoing £7 billion transformation programme.

Set to begin in 2026, the rollout will see BA customers enjoy gate-to-gate connectivity powered by Starlink’s low-Earth orbit satellite network, enabling seamless streaming, working, and communication even over oceans and remote regions.

“This is a game-changer for our customers,” said Sean Doyle, British Airways’ Chairman and CEO. “With Starlink, passengers will experience lightning-fast, low-latency internet that feels like home, even at 38,000 feet.”

The connectivity upgrade follows a string of investments aimed at enhancing the onboard experience. These include new short-haul cabin designs, a refreshed global lounge concept in Miami and Dubai, and the delivery of 36 new aircraft since 2023. The airline has also deployed AI-driven predictive maintenance and operational tools to achieve its best punctuality performance since 2012.

The Starlink partnership underlines British Airways’ commitment to redefining connectivity and comfort across its fleet, positioning the carrier at the forefront of next-generation inflight experience in Europe.
