In a strategic move that reinforces India’s growing role in aircraft interiors engineering, JAMCO Corporation has announced plans to establish a dedicated Product Engineering Centre in Bengaluru.
The new facility will focus on end-to-end engineering and development of aircraft interior components for global OEMs including Boeing and Airbus, further integrating Indian engineering expertise into international cabin programmes.
The announcement follows discussions between JAMCO’s leadership including Chief Operating Officer Sanjeev Sen and Board Chair Kate Schaefer and senior officials from Karnataka’s Commerce and Industries Department. The State formally confirmed the company’s decision to establish the centre in Bengaluru, widely regarded as India’s aerospace capital.

The Product Engineering Centre is expected to support the full lifecycle of cabin interior components, including conceptual design, detailed engineering, validation support, and certification-aligned development. For an interiors specialist such as JAMCO, the localisation of engineering capabilities represents a strategic step toward faster programme execution, improved customer responsiveness, and closer collaboration with airline and OEM partners.
As global airlines accelerate cabin retrofit cycles and passenger experience investments particularly amid aircraft delivery delays and supply-chain constraints the demand for agile engineering support has intensified. The Bengaluru centre is positioned to play a role in supporting both line-fit and retrofit programmes across global fleets.
Karnataka’s aerospace ecosystem anchored by a deep engineering talent pool, advanced manufacturing infrastructure, and a concentration of aerospace suppliers has increasingly become a destination for global aviation investments.
