In a move set to reshape the in-cabin digital landscape, Bluebox Aviation Systems has unveiled Blueview Cloud, a new solution that removes the need for onboard hardware while enhancing the passenger experience and opening new ancillary revenue channels for airlines. Designed to leverage the full potential of today’s high-bandwidth, always-on connectivity, Blueview Cloud delivers the entire Blueview digital platform from the ground.
For aircraft interiors, this marks a significant evolution, digital engagement no longer depends on embedded hardware. Instead, passengers access a fully airline-branded digital environment directly via the aircraft’s connectivity portal, offering seamless, OTT-style entertainment and e-commerce integrated into the broader passenger experience.
Blueview Cloud enables a range of features previously reliant on onboard servers or seatback systems, including:
- In-seat Ordering: Passengers can order food, drinks, and duty-free items from their own devices. With live payment authorisation, the platform reduces credit card declines and increases conversion rates.
- On-Demand Entertainment: The system streams curated film, TV, and audio content in an OTT format, all supported by Bluebox’s proven content security record, enabling studio approvals.
- Integrated Brand Experience: Airlines can reflect their identity through the platform, integrating loyalty programmes, advertising campaigns, and service touchpoints—all accessible in a consistent digital interface.
For cabin crew, the platform streamlines inflight service by delivering seat-specific order details directly to POS devices, reducing service complexity and enabling more personalised, efficient delivery.

By moving the software stack entirely to the ground, Blueview Cloud removes the need for dedicated onboard hardware, resulting in reduced capital and maintenance costs, faster deployment timelines, simplified fleet-wide upgrades, new digital revenue streams and improved NPS through smoother digital experiences
Kevin Clark, CEO of Bluebox Aviation Systems, underscored the opportunity, “High-bandwidth connectivity changes the game for airlines. Blueview Cloud makes it possible to harness that connectivity to improve passenger satisfaction and airline profitability, creating better ROI on connectivity investment without the complexity of additional on-wing hardware.”
To support airlines in making a smooth transition, Bluebox offers a ‘Transition Deployment’ model in which aircraft can be equipped within weeks using Bluebox Wow, the company’s portable wireless system, and later upgraded to Blueview Cloud as connectivity becomes available. This ensures airlines can begin monetising digital engagement immediately without waiting for full connectivity rollouts.
Importantly, Blueview Cloud doesn’t replace existing Bluebox solutions. Instead, it extends the company’s offering, giving airlines broader flexibility to select solutions that align with specific aircraft types, cabin layouts, and business models.
As part of its ongoing collaborations with platforms like Airbus OSP and Viasat’s Connected Partner Programme, Bluebox views Blueview Cloud as another step in enabling truly connected cabin experiences supporting both low-cost carriers and full-service airlines in enhancing the digital passenger journey.
