Delta has launched a refreshing roulette of summer flavours this travel season. In association with their partnership with Missoni, through Delta One, the airline is to launch a host of amenities, bespoke beddings, and state-of-the-art luxuries for its customers. Starting with a curated menu of food and beverage offerings on international flights.

“Summer is a season of adventure and relaxation for many of our customers. It’s a time when indulgence takes centre stage, which we actively work to extend to the food, meals, and beverages that enhance the journey,” said Stephanie Laster, Managing Director of Onboard Culinary Experience. “With this in mind, we’re excited to evolve our onboard offerings monthly, rolling out fresh new flavours and options that match what customers tell us they want.”

Sip, Indulge, and Discover the Taste of International Cuisines

As customers visit their bucket-list destinations, in-flight culinary offerings by Delta go through an upgrade. Their first-ever flight to Sicily from New York boasts authentic cuisines that set up their passengers’ travel experience from the journey itself. On the menu is a delectable spinach and ricotta rotolo with cherry tomato sauce and fried basil leaves that can be found in Delta One. Among the dishes that will commence in July is a handmade artichoke ravioli dish with panna sauce, roasted cherry tomatoes, and parmesan.

Previously available only on flights departing from Atlanta, James Beard Award-winning chef Mashama Bailey’s dishes are now available on more domestic and international routes due to the overwhelming positive feedback from customers. Customers who prefer savoury, zesty flavours should sample Chef Bailey’s prawn and grits, which are served on a few flights and come with scallions and spicy Creole sauce.

Adding a Touch of Liquid Luxury: Elevated Wines with Delta One

To celebrate the start of summer, Delta’s award-winning onboard wine program aims to introduce both classic and newer flavours of wine to its customers. In addition to their rotational wine collection, Delta One, in a partnership with Taittinger, is to bring more luxurious drinks on board. The current summer wine rotation includes five varietals in both domestic and international flights.

“The wonderful thing about travel is that we experience new places, cultures, and culinary explorations,” said Andrea Robinson, Master Sommelier and Delta Wine Consultant. “Delta does a great job bringing that ethos onboard with their wine program, highlighting both classic regions as well as up-and-comers.”

The airline has also brought in their first-ever still wine cans onboard through their successful partnership with Une Femme for their Delta Comfort and Delta Main passengers. Prior to the June national retail launch of Une Femme’s new Chardonnay and Red Blend California wines, Delta customers were given an exclusive first taste of the wines at the beginning of the year. These wines join Une Femme’s flagship wine, The Betty (sparkling brut), available across all cabins and one of the most popular choices for customers.

Delta Comfort Introduces Individualised Meal Selection

In an effort to give their customers a greater choice of personalisation, Delta Comfort has expanded their popular advanced meal selection option. Customers flying with international Delta Comfort can now select their meal options beginning seven days prior to departure. Being able to choose from a range of delectable items such as chipotle chicken or mushroom mezzaluna. This option is now available to Delta Comfort customers on transoceanic and long-haul Hawaii flights with meal service, with a few exceptions.

Catering to Healthier Options

To meet the demand for a surge in healthier food options, Delta has begun offering selections from Farmer’s Fridge for purchase on select flights for a limited time. Making it a standard Fresh Flight Fuel option on flights that fly over 1500 miles departing LAX. From the morning or afternoon, and evening assortments, patrons can select from a range of chef-curated dishes.

“At Delta, we are always testing and learning in service of our customer preferences and needs,” said Laster. “Our hope with Farmer’s Fridge is that these meal choices will elevate the experience by providing chef-crafted, fresh foods they can enjoy at 30,000 feet.”

In addition to their healthier options, Delta has also introduced a beloved American snack: Cheez-It®. The cheesy baked cracker can perfectly go along with the inflight Biscoff cookies, with Garden Salsa SunChips rounding out the snack lineup in Delta Main, offering both sweet and savoury options.

Fast Food Galore

Delta First has introduced the Shake Shack Cheeseburger onboard for passengers flying on routes of more than 900 miles. The Shake Shack Cheeseburger comes complete with 100% Angus beef, a toasted potato bun, ShackSauce, and toppings, so customers can create their own ShackBurger©. In addition to the Cheeseburger, the meal includes Crinkle Cut Potato Chips, which were created especially for this collaboration and are modeled after Shake Shack’s popular Crinkle Cut Fries, and a rich dark chocolate brownie with flaky sea salt and crunchy cocoa nibs, which was inspired by Shack Attack Concrete.

The new addition to their in-flight meal options allows Delta’s customers to enjoy the classic American meal in the air.
