Lufthansa Technik is showcasing its latest cabin innovation, the nice intellitable, a folding tray table with integrated high-definition touchscreen functionality, at the Dubai Airshow from November 17–21.

The nice intellitable builds on the company’s award-winning Hidden Touch Display, keeping interactive controls hidden until passengers need them. The touchscreen provides access to flight information, moving maps, seat adjustments, food and beverage ordering, music and video playback, and digital magazine browsing. When used for dining, the interactive features either shrink to the edge or disappear entirely. The tray’s surface is designed to withstand spills and mechanical impact from utensils.

Customizable finishes, including wood, carbon fiber, or metal, allow the interface to blend seamlessly with cabin interiors while maintaining a premium tactile experience.

“Passengers often encounter a disconnect between cabin control solutions and how they naturally interact with their environment,” said Andrew Muirhead, Vice President, Original Equipment and Special Aircraft Services at Lufthansa Technik. “With the nice intellitable, we are rethinking cabin technology, creating intuitive, seamless interactions that enhance the passenger experience while meeting airline needs.”

The product highlights a broader industry trend toward integrated, functional, and aesthetically cohesive cabin technology. As airlines focus on enhancing passenger experience and optimizing cabin space, interactive surfaces like the nice intellitable could become standard in VIP, business, and first-class cabins.
