QantasLink has announced a multi-million-dollar investment programme focused on cabin upgrades and fleet renewal for its Western Australia operations, aimed at improving passenger comfort, reliability and operational efficiency.
As part of the programme, Network Aviation, QantasLink’s Perth-based subsidiary, will upgrade the cabins of its Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft while introducing Embraer E190 jets to replace its ageing Fokker 100 fleet.

Cabin interior upgrades
Network Aviation will retrofit its fleet of 28 Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft with onboard Wi-Fi, enabling passengers to access in-flight entertainment through the Qantas Entertainment App on personal devices.
The A320 aircraft will also receive new seating, featuring USB-A and USB-C charging ports and portable device holders. The first refurbished aircraft is expected to enter service later in 2026, with the full cabin upgrade and Wi-Fi installation programme scheduled for completion in early 2027.
Fleet modernisation
QantasLink has confirmed the acquisition of three mid-life Embraer E190 aircraft, with deliveries expected to begin by the end of 2026. The E190s will gradually replace Network Aviation’s Fokker 100 aircraft, which have been in service for more than 30 years.
The airline plans to introduce up to 14 E190s in total. According to QantasLink, the aircraft will offer improved reliability, better fuel efficiency and enhanced passenger comfort compared with the outgoing F100 fleet.
The Fokker 100s are being retired progressively as Network Aviation receives Airbus A320 aircraft transferred from Jetstar Asia, alongside the introduction of the E190s.
Broader Qantas Group investment
The upgrades in Western Australia form part of the Qantas Group’s wider fleet renewal strategy, which includes firm orders for more than 200 new aircraft and cabin refurbishments across its Boeing 737 and A330 fleets. These refurbishments will feature new business and economy seating and increased overhead storage capacity.
Network Aviation operates more than 600 flights per week to over 25 destinations, primarily serving regional Western Australia and the state’s resources sector. Its current fleet comprises Fokker 100, Airbus A319 and Airbus A320 aircraft.
