ritish Airways is all set to debut the new
short-haul seats and cabin interiors on its
next-generation narrowbody fleet of eight
BA320s and A321 slated to arrive later this
year. This announcement is in sync with the airline’s
$8.8 billion revamp plan aimed at enhancing the
passenger experience. The new seats and interi-
ors are in partnership with suppliers from England,
Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
“We’re on a journey to a better BA for our people
and for our customers, underpinned by a transfor-
mation programme that will see us invest £7bn over
the next two years to revolutionise our business,”
says Sean Doyle, British Airways’ Chairman and
CEO. “We’re going to take delivery of new aircraft,
introduce new cabins, elevate our customer care,
focus on operational performance and address our
environmental impact by reducing our emissions
and creating a culture of sustainability. We are laser-
focused on transforming our business and fixing any
pain points for our customers.”
The airline’s business class seats, Club Europe, will
be equipped with a leather tray for separation, while
Club Europe and the new Euro Traveller economy
seats will feature USB-A and USB-C power points.
The re-designed cabins will also be fitted with
extra-large bins for overhead luggage.
British Airways boasts to be the only European
carrier to offer First Class between the UK and US
and to introduce a brand-new and exclusive First
suite. The airline expects the new seat to make its
debut at the end of 2025 into early 2026 as part of
its A380 aircraft refurbishment
